Wallet & Skip-Trace Billing

Account, Team & Billing Updated Sep 3, 2026 Users managing skip-trace spend

Skip-trace lookups are paid from two sources, in order: your plan's included monthly traces, then your wallet. My Wallet is where both live — open it from the wallet button in the header.

Reading My Wallet

The Plan Usage panel: deal analyses shown as unlimited, a skip-trace meter reading 0 of 250 with the remaining count and the reset date beneath, and plan limits for scenarios per deal, bulk skip tracing and team seats.
Included skip traces are metered against the plan and reset on the billing date.
  • Free traces — your included allowance, with the meter that answers most billing questions: "X of Y left this month." It renews with your billing month.
  • Cash balance — money you've deposited, shown with the current per-trace rate. Wallet cash never expires, and it stays yours even if your subscription lapses.
  • Traces available — the practical total: included traces plus what your balance covers at the displayed rate.
  • Tabs: Add Funds, Deposit History, and Skiptrace History — the last one lists every trace and what it consumed, which is the fastest way to reconcile any surprise.

How a trace gets billed

  1. If included traces remain, the trace uses one.
  2. Otherwise, the wallet is charged the per-trace rate shown in My Wallet.
  3. If neither can cover it, the trace is refused with a clear message — "You have used all your free skip traces this month. Add funds to keep skip tracing." — and nothing is consumed.

You only pay for results. A unit is reserved when a trace starts and settled only when it succeeds — a no-match or failed lookup releases the reservation, consuming neither an included trace nor wallet cash. Repeating a trace on the same property shortly after reuses the recent result rather than charging again.

Teams and bulk

  • On team accounts, tracing draws on the account owner's allowance, and overage bills the owner's wallet — teammates don't carry separate balances.
  • Bulk skip tracing (a higher-tier feature) bills each successful trace in the batch exactly like a single one: allowance first, then wallet.

Common questions

  • "Where do I see the price per trace?" — In My Wallet, next to your cash balance. The product shows the applicable charge — trust that display.
  • "I was blocked mid-list." — The allowance ran out and the wallet couldn't cover the next trace. Add funds, or wait for the monthly renewal.
  • "My meter doesn't match my memory." — Open Skiptrace History; every consuming trace is listed. Remember failed/no-match traces are free and won't appear as charges.
  • "I canceled — is my balance gone?" — No. Wallet cash is yours and remains spendable on traces.
